Aesthetic dentistry Turku - Beautiful and lasting solutions for your smile

Dent Å's aesthetic dentistry specialists will help you achieve a beautiful and functional smile with modern treatment methods. We offer veneers, direct composite veneers, crowns, implants, bridges and clear aligner treatment. Each treatment is individually designed with the goal of a natural and lasting result.

What is aesthetic dentistry?

Aesthetic dentistry focuses on improving the appearance of teeth while preserving or improving their function. At Dent Å, aesthetic dentistry includes dental veneers, aesthetic crowns and bridges, composite bonding, implants and clear aligner treatment. These treatments correct defects in tooth colour and shape, wear, damage and misalignment.

We use the latest technology: 3D scanning, digital design and high-quality ceramic materials. Each solution is individually manufactured in collaboration with our experienced dental technicians. Before treatment, we always assess the overall situation - for example, the need for orthodontic treatment should be assessed before laminates or crowns.

Who is aesthetic dentistry for?

Aesthetic dentistry is suitable for anyone who is bothered by discolouration, chips, wear, misshapen teeth or minor misalignments. Even extensively damaged teeth can be restored to beauty and function with aesthetic crowns. Missing teeth are replaced with natural-looking implants and dental bridges. Age is no barrier - we treat both young adults and older patients.

Why choose Dent Å for aesthetic dentistry?

Dent Å combines years of experience with modern treatment methods. Our dentists specialise in aesthetic treatments and work closely with our dental laboratories. We use only high-quality, durable materials that guarantee a long-lasting result.

We invest in careful planning. Digital modelling allows you to visualise the end result in advance. We always try to save as much of your own tooth tissue as possible, which improves the long-term durability of the tooth. The goal of every treatment is a natural result - we don't make smiles that are too perfect, but ones that are just right for your face.

Our aesthetic treatments

Dental veneers - thin ceramic shells

Dental veneers are thin ceramic shells that are attached to the surface of the front teeth. They are an excellent solution for tooth wear, misalignment and discolouration. Laminates also improve the durability of the tooth by protecting it from further damage.

The laminate is attached to the ground tooth surface. Grinding is kept to a minimum, sparing the tooth tissue. The amount of sanding will depend on the size of the misalignment, the desired result and the extent of old fillings. If there are significant misalignments in the teeth, you should consider orthodontic treatment first - this will reduce the need for grinding and improve the final result.

Laminates have a lifespan of 10-20 years depending on the level of self-care, bite and diet. They look completely natural and retain their colour well. The treatment is usually completed in 2-3 visits.

Direct composite veneers

As an alternative to ceramic shells, laminated plastic can be used, which is particularly suitable for minor shape or colour corrections. This method involves layering a high-quality composite resin on the tooth surface directly in the dental practice, making the treatment quick and often less expensive than the ceramic option. The layering resin usually does not require grinding of the tooth and, although softer than ceramic laminate, it is easy to polish, repair or replace later.

Clear aligner treatment - discreet teeth straightening

Membrane straightening means straightening teeth with transparent plastic membranes. They are discreet and removable, making them a pleasant alternative to traditional fixed appliances. They can be used to correct the position of individual teeth for aesthetic reasons or to correct wider bite defects.

The treatment starts with a digital design, where you can see the end result in advance. You will receive a series of individually made membranes, which are changed every 1-2 weeks. The membranes are worn for 20-22 hours a day, removed only for eating and brushing.

A simple aesthetic correction takes 3-6 months. More extensive restorations can take 12-18 months. During treatment, there are regular check-ups every 4-8 weeks. The cost of treatment depends on the complexity and duration of the treatment.

Aesthetic crowns and dental bridges

When a tooth is extensively damaged, an aesthetic crown restores its functionality, appearance and cleanability. We mainly use all-ceramic materials that look natural and do not contain metal. The crown is made by shaping the tooth to preserve as much of its own tissue as possible. The work is reproduced on a 3D scanner and fabricated in the laboratory. The milled tooth is protected by a temporary crown while waiting. Sometimes the protection is not needed if the final crown is cemented the same day.

A dental bridge is a fixed replacement for missing teeth. Crowns are made for the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth, which are joined by a spacer. A full-ceramic bridge is a beautiful-looking and durable solution. Before fabricating the bridge, the condition of the supporting teeth and the bite are always checked.

Crowns are made for the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth, which are connected by a pontic. Particular attention should be paid to the margin where the crown meets the natural tooth and to the pontic area of the bridge. Sometimes a bite splint is made to protect the structure. With quality work and good self-care, the result will last for decades.

Frequently asked questions

The right treatment depends on your starting point and your wishes. If your teeth have misalignment, clear aligner treatment may be the best place to start. Discoloured or worn teeth are repaired with veneers or aesthetic plastics. Extensively damaged teeth require crowns. Often a combination of treatments will give the best results. In a consultation, we design an individual solution.

Yes, modern ceramic materials perfectly mimic the shine and translucency of your own teeth. A skilled dentist and technician will create teeth that match your face and smile. The goal is not an overly perfect ”Hollywood smile”, but a naturally beautiful result.

Laminates last 10-20 years, crowns and bridges 10-15 years. If well maintained and in the right conditions, both can last much longer. The result of clear aligner treatment is permanent if you use retainers as directed.. Durability is affected by self-care, bite, diet and regular check-ups.

Laminates usually require minimal sanding (0.3-0.7 mm), sometimes none at all. Crowns require more space (1-2 mm). We always try to save as much of our own tooth tissue as possible. Clear aligner treatment does not require grinding, so it is worth considering this first if possible.

Prices vary: a single laminate and crown from €700, a dental bridge from €1800 to €3600 (3 units) and clear aligner treatment from €1,500 to €6,000 depending on the scope. You will always receive an accurate cost estimate before starting treatment.
